Queen's Engineering and Applied Science Jackets

Jacket Pickup:

Pickup Location: Clark Hall Pub (same location as jacket fitting).

Pickup Times: There are two jacket pickup opportunities this year.

  1. December 11th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This day is meant for either upper year jacket pick-up or for first years who would not like to participate in the traditional jacket pick-up events, or for any other reason! There will be no upper years at this event (which means no jacket stealing or kicking it home).

** If you cannot make this day but can make the next and do not want to participate in the activities, not a problem at all! Just let one of the volunteers know and you can carry your jacket out or put it in a bag.

  1. December 12th from 9:00 am - 1:30 pm

This day is meant for the regular jacket pick-up activities. Please follow the schedule below. Please be ready outside of the front doors of Clark 10 minutes prior to your scheduled time.

    Jacket Bursary Program

Every year Campus Equipment Outfitters (CEO) collects funds for the Engineering and Applied Science Jacket Bursary Program. The bursary allotment is donated each year by Campus Equipment Outfitters and the Engineering Society. The mission of this program is to ensure every Engineering student has access to an Applied Science jacket, regardless of financial situation.

    Donations to the Bursary Fund:

If you would like to make a donation to the Jacket Bursary Fund, please email the CEO Head Manager, Sidney, at ceo@engsoc.queensu.ca. Any amount can make a huge difference in putting a student in a jacket!

Applications for the 2019 Academic Year:

APPLICANTS: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY TO THE BOTTOM!

Bursaries are ONLY considered in ONCE A YEAR, for the September Jacket Fitting. Bursaries will not be given out in the second semester or during the summer. Applications are due on Friday, September 13 at 11:00 PM. The application form is found by clicking hereYou will be notified about the status of your application via email no later than Wednesday, September 18th at 11:00 pm.

This application is the ONLY thing that can be considered by the Queen’s Engineering Society Bursary Committee when delegating bursaries. There can be no supplemental information given at any time so please outline your financial situation as clearly as possible in order to best increase chances at receiving a bursary.

Not all applicants will receive a bursary and if rewarded a bursary, it may not be for the amount requested. You may apply for a bursary in any year of undergraduate study and you may apply for a bursary multiple years in a row if you were not awarded one in a previous year.

The Queen’s Engineering Society Bursary Committee reviews each application anonymously to provide the fair and non-biased bursary delegation. If you would like to speak to someone about the bursary process please feel free to email the Director of Social Issues for the Engineering Society at dosi@engsoc.queensu.ca

This bursary ONLY applies to Queen’s Engineering GPAs, NOT the faculties of Commerce, Arts and Science, etc. Please contact your faculty for more information regarding other bursaries.
